MEET THE KIX 106 CREW
CORTNEY LANPHEAR
Cortney
Lanphear (“most people call me Cort!”) was born February 15, 1984 in
Fort Smith, Arkansas. She lives in Coal Hill and loves spending quality
time with her family and fiancé. She enjoys riding
horses – especially
her own - Tani!
Cortney is an
honor graduate of Johnson County Westside High School from 2002. She
continued her education at the University of the Ozarks, graduating in
2008, with a major in mass communications. While in college, she was on
the National Dean’s list and a member of the University’s television
crew. During this time, she was awarded a full time internship at KHBS/KHOG
Channel 40/29. She was also an active member and officer of Phi Beta
Lambda, the University’s professional business organization where she
earned 3rd place in Computer Applications and 5th
place in Database Design and Applications at the State Leadership
conference competitions.
Cortney loves
music and loves to sing – just ask her about her trip to New York City
when she sang with a group in Carnegie Hall! “Radio is an obvious
combination of my interests – music and technology!”
In addition to
her education, Cortney has several years of experience in radio. She
has worked for Clear Channel Communications, KZBB/B98 radio, in Fort
Smith where she had an on-air shift on Sunday nights, and worked many
community service outreach activities sponsored by the station. During
one of these activities, she actually got to meet and “hang out” with
wrestling champion Hulk Hogan and his daughter! She also worked a short
while at KXIO during college as well as KARV in Russellville. Now, she
says, “I’m back at KIX 106 and this time, I’m staying!”
THANKS FOR MAKING KIX 106 YOUR NUMBER ONE COMMUNITY STATION!
