MEET THE KIX 106 CREW
BLAINE LEEDS
Blaine Leeds was born
August 13th 1969, and has lived in Clarksville for all but four years of
his life. Blaine lives in Clarksville today and stays busy with his wife
Jolie and their two sons Brandt and Brennan
who go to Clarksville Public
Schools.
Blaine is a practicing dentist in Clarksville and graduated with high
honors from The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1996.
Dr. Leeds is a proud graduate of Arkansas Tech University in
Russellville with a degree in Chemistry from 1991. Dr. Leeds graduated
Summa Cum Laude from Tech and was named the Alfred J. Crabaugh award
winner for the outstanding male senior student in 1991. Blaine met his
wife Jolie as they served as the only husband and wife to succeed one
another as President of the Arkansas Tech Student Body in 1990 and 1991.
Blaine loves all sports and is a rabid Razorback fan, as well as a die
hard St. Louis Cardinal fan. His career in broadcasting began in the
early nineties as he assisted Tim Swindle with the University of the
Ozarks and long time Clarksville broadcaster Steve Rinke with Panther
Basketball.
Dr. Leeds loves to spend time coaching kids. He has coached twenty-three
different teams in ten years in the Johnson County Boys Club in
baseball, basketball and football.
Dr. Leeds and his family are active members of the First Baptist Church
in Clarksville and Dr. Leeds loves to sing. He is active in the music
ministry at FBC and is a member of the band Beyond Walls, a group that
plays rock, country and blues music with a faith based message. Beyond
Walls is currently working on their first group of original songs.
Blaine likes to remind broadcast partner Kyle Helms at every opportunity
that Kyle once coached him in baseball (indicating Helms is an old man).
Dr. Leeds played basketball for one year for coach Gary Thompson at
Clarksville and was a part of three Panther football teams under Don
Byrd, Gerald Cowell and Dave Ross that went 24-9 and made three
consecutive playoff appearances. He also has fond memories of one season
of tennis under then coach Robert Gibson and three years of baseball
with Dave Ross and current panther coach Jake Hudson.
Dr. Leeds walked on and made the Arkansas Tech University baseball team
under Dale Harpenau (Current UAFS Head Coach) but left the team before
the season began to focus on academics.
Dr. Leeds father-in-law is long time Director of Athletics at Arkansas
Tech, Don Sevier.
